This is a local shop for local people

I moved into the new place yesterday. I am now in Wales. I am, in fact, in a small hamlet located approximately in the middle of nowhere. If you find yourself passing through nowhere, and head directly to the centre from an easterly direction, then turn thirty-five degrees to the left when you are ten miles off, you'll probably arrive at where I am.

I spent yesterday not doing much at all – listening to The Archers and so on. Today I tried to tidy up my room, and made some progress. Then I remembered there are still two more large boxes of stuff to unload downstairs.

I am also trying to get back into my writing routine. With the pressure of moving, I haven't written for a week or more, which is very unusual for me. What does the future hold? Well, a brief reconnaisance leads me to think that there's really nothing to do here, except walk over the hills, which might turn out to be good for my writing, since I'll probably have to give my attention to it or go a bit loopy. I went into the nearest village today, and I was amused to see a shop actually called, 'The Village Shop'.

Anyway, it's going to take me a while to settle in here, I think, so that's my excuse if I'm uncommunicative for a while.

  1. This move may turn out to be a very good thing for you. After all, the only thing permanet is change. I sincerely hope that the condition of your eyes has improved or will improve.
