Shame this blog received no comments. It’s wrong, obviously. The West ran out of fools? I don’t think so. The Governments of the “West” ensured the taxpaying populations of the “West” bailed out the basically racist and irresponsible few – those bank boards, CE’s, directors, etc. No lack of fools there. The bubble burst too soon, is their cry, bless ‘em. They were in the process of (having realised the whole sub-prime mortgage farce was just that: a farce; or rather a disaster waiting to happen) “off loading the debt”. And where to? Well, yeah, strangely the Arab states. Can you believe that? And third world countries with a huge amount of debt. Once they had it, well, whatthehell, the bubble can burst and they’ve got that bit more debt. Or in the case of the Arabs, well, they’ve got more money than that. They can afford it what with oil and everything. So, racist, yeah. Supported by a variety of regimes. And not one of the offenders has had to resign, oh, no, they’re still in situ waiting to do it again, with the support of the governments of the West. Don’t it make you proud to be one of the fools?Season’s greetings one and all. Hope the new year’s the best you’ve ever had. Meanwhile I’ve got this white-bearded, red-coated old bugger with a sack in my lounge, claims he’s delivering presents but I know – I mean I just know – he’s planting bugs all around the house. Father what does he call himself? I tell you now, he’s dead. Dead. Simple as that.Kindest regards.Peter

  2. Hello. Yeah. The title’s wrong. I knew it as soon as I wrote it. It’s 3.00AM. Can’t write more now. Feeling ashamed to be English, and wishing I knew exactly who in the banking system it would be best to kick to death.Anyhow, at least I’m not going to reproduce.Merry Christmas. Goodnight. More soonish.

  3. I wrote that when I was drunkish. It was Christmas Day, wasn’t it?Actually, I don’t have much to add. I know a lot of people who are suffering financially at the moment, including myself. The recession is not something that just happens to other people, it seems. Interestingly, it seems that the banks, who are responsible for this, still have the temerity to treat people like shit for the results of their own crimes. When did banking ever become respectable?I went to the U.S. a few months back, and heard from another Briton, who had also made the Atlantic crossing, the following story: Their plane was almost empty and the stewardess told her to feel free to stretch out. “Can we stretch out as far as business class?” she asked. “It’s funny, business class is as packed as ever,” she was told. Seems like the cunts always get away with it. It’s always the rest of us who have to pay for their crimes.

My hunch is that all the masters of the universe, and the others who revere their good business sense, are just waiting until things revert back to their pre-catastrophic state (it’s already happening). We have been told that this does not represent a failure of capitalism, but rather bad business practice and lack of oversight. Well, of course, because too many cannot imagine a better condition than the one offered by capitalism. It is the very best system for creating wealth, we are told. Why imagine any other? Why employ a different standard? If there is a divining intelligence in this bleak universe, those of you who pray to it, kindly pray for all of us. We need its mercy now.

  5. Hello Jim.My hunch is that all the masters of the universe, and the others who revere their good business sense, are just waiting until things revert back to their pre-catastrophic state (it’s already happening)..Sadly, this seems likely. Although our political leaders and the corporations who pull their strings are very shrewd in protecting their own interests, I can’t help seeing them as little people, with one-dimensional minds. As you say, they cannot imagine anything better than capitalism – a very grave failure of the imagination.
