I've just written some more lyrics, rather brief this time:
I’m No Friend of Yours
So, here we are in the 21st century.
Did I ever tell you that I don’t approve
Of American familiarities?
Please don’t take that easy tone with me.
Learn someone else’s manners.
Learn someone else’s ways.
Learn someone else’s history
For a change.
Decent rant, I was almost afraid to leave a comment 😆
Thank you. This might be set to music at some point, and if it is, it’s possible it will be uploaded somewhere on the Internet.I read a phrase in a story by Charlotte Perkins Gilman. Let’s see:I call continually. I bury her in flowers. I take her to the theatre, aunt and all. And at this the aunt seemed greatly surprised, but I disapprove of American familiarities. The story is ‘The Unexpected’. I was struck by the last phrase, and the other words you see above fell in place around it immediately.
Anonymous writes:Excellent! Reminds me of Ron Mael’s lyrics, which has to be a good thing.
Thank you. Any comparisons to Ron Mael are welcome.
