On Friday I went to Carnaby Street, and, specifically, to Kingly Court, just off Carnaby Street. At present, in Kingly Court, and for a limited period (I don't know how long), there's a book exchange. The idea is this: You take along a book and leave it there. You take one of the books from the shelves in exchange. In the book you read, when you bring it back, you leave a note for the next reader (if you want to) with your thoughts. I suppose you can also leave notes in the books you first bring to the exchange. According to Mr Kim, who I met with at the Book Exchange, there may be a Facebook page for the project soon. Anyway, if you're in London, and especially if you're anywhere near Carnaby Street, why not take a book along?
